An Examination of the Thermal Comfort Impacts of Ficus altssima on the Climate in Lower Subtropical China during the Winter Season

As a common practice in urban landscape design, tree planting plays an important role improving the environment and microclimate. This study aimed to investigate thermal comfort effects provided by trees on surrounding environment. Using species Ficus altissima growing lower subtropical China, variation temperature, humidity, wind speed due canopy was summarized, intensity of transpiration cooling analyzed, regression relationship between indicators investigated using physiological equivalent temperature (PET). The results revealed that various indications for may be described separately one-dimensional equations, three viable multiple equations could created PET combining physical, physiological, microclimatic parameters.
